Unfortunately after cooking and eating a tasty meal there comes the washing up of the pans and plates, and we often find the tastier the meal the more washing there is to be done.

If you own a dishwasher, this is a great way to get your plates and pans clean without using much energy after your full stomach, but it’s not great when it comes to plates and cutlery that need to be hand washed  So here are a few tips into helping you get your cutlery, glasses, pans and plates looking fresh and clean

Using the right tools for the job

Choosing your soap for the dishes is just as important as the tool you use to clean them with, there are many dish washing soaps out there that claim to cut through grease, make your glassware and cutlery sparkle, but this isn’t always the case  make sure you pick one through good recommendations and reviews, your more expensive brands do tend to do the job better at cutting through that grease and making things sparkle.

How to get your washing to really sparkle

Even though choosing the best soap is important, there are a few other tricks which can really make your washing up sparkle

Make sure you use hot water, this helps cutaway grease much easier, if your tap doesn’t get hot enough, boil a kettle and add it to the sink .

Use baking soda to get rid of hard stuck on foods, the soda helps dissolve the food, making it easier to wipe away.

Cut a lemon in half and use it to get rid of those hard to remove tea stains  the acid is strong enough to remove the stains but not so strong that it damages anything.
